Dear Valued Customer,

In recent price increase notifications, we have tried to inform and prepare you for the possibility of the enactment of import tariffs/duties on Steel and Aluminum. Late last week that possibility became reality when President Trump announced the enactment of these duties. President Donald Trump signed two proclamations levying tariffs on aluminum and steel imports. The 25 percent duty on steel and 10 percent charge on aluminum follow a pledge from Trump to revisit global trade deals, NAFTA in particular.         The tariffs will take effect in 15 days.

The impact of this will be far reaching. While it clearly has an effect on imported steel, it will also have a cascading effect on domestically produced steel and aluminum products. Already we are receiving price increases from vendors of products made of these materials.

IMPORTANT CHANGES AND ACTIONS:

1.      Master Halco Quotes To Customer . All Quotes will be limited to 10 days due to marked volatility. If orders are not placed within 10 Days, the quote will be re-issued at current market price.         We will be bound by the duration of quoted prices we are given by our Vendors. If you are unable to place orders within the vendors allotted time, the materials will be subject to re-quote at new market prices.

2. We would recommend that you discuss this situation with your customers and make them aware of market volatility and the fact that they must take action within allotted times or be subjec to price changes.

IMPORTANT: While we are very measured in our approach to price increases, this legislative development has already created turmoil in the market. Our goal is to assess the situation based on all currently available information and to make the most prudent business decisions that will protect our customers and Master Halco
